The Humanitarian Forum is organizing a training course on the role of youth and women in civil society in cooperation with the Union of Orphans Care and the Union of Civil Society Organizations The Humanitarian Forum is a network of major humanitarian and development organizations from both donor and recipient countries. We seek to improve the lives of those in need, and the relationships between communities, by building bridges and high-quality humanitarian action both internationally and locally in a global network of individuals. We also want to promote a neutral, impartial and safe environment to enable these organizations to operate to their full potential.
Enable civil society organizations at all levels to achieve their full potential. Creating space for dialogue and understanding between humanitarian and development organizations from countries, and their multilateral Western counterparts from Western systems as well as working with humanitarian and development agencies from all over the world.

This training course will be held in the Turkish city of Gaziantep from 13-15 April 2018,
from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and
it targets young men and women between the ages of 22 and 32 years residing in the city of Gaziantep.

This course targets young men and women with expertise and civil society workers from:
• Heads of organizations.
• Senior management (head of the department / project).
• Those with experience working with international NGOs.
• Employees, interested and experts in innovating and creating social projects.

The training course will cover the following topics:
1. The personality of young people working in civil society.
2. Youth participation in civil society.
3. Communication with key stakeholders.

This training course is designed to highlight the role that women and youth in civil society can play in the charitable sector in particular.
The general objectives of this course are as follows:
• Assessing the roles that youth and women need in civil society.
• Develop a set of recommendations or projects to involve youth and women in civil society.
• Appreciating the basic necessities in terms of character, morals and culture in the youth working in civil society.

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
• Develop a set of recommendations or projects for involving youth and women in civil society

• Raising awareness of the role of women and youth in the civil society space

• Develop a deeper understanding of the basic characteristics needed for civil society workers

The course will be presented by a selection of trainers with experience in the field of civil work and training:

1. Ms. Maali Al-Asousi: One of the pioneers of voluntary and charitable work in Kuwait, director of the Yemen office for Direct Aid, and recipient of the 2017 Pioneering Arab Woman Award.

2. Mr. Hamza Al-Abdullah: Executive Director of the World Relief and Development Authority (ANSER), and a member of the Youth Committee of the Mentor Arab Regional Foundation.

3.Prof. Hadi Al-Khatib: Regional Coordinator at DARB and a core member of the UNESCO Youth Committee (GCED).

There are no entry fees, the course is free, and meals and refreshments will be provided to participants. In selecting applicants, we will take into account those who are able to attend all days of the course and who are registered by sending their ID numbers or passports before the date of the course to obtain security licenses according to the legal instructions in Turkey.
