With an initiative that is the first of its kind, the Kuwaiti Consulate in Istanbul celebrated the National Day and Liberation Day in cooperation with the Union for Orphans Care, with the participation of orphans and their mothers who are sponsored by the Sham Association for Orphans Care, and in the presence of a large crowd of foreign and Arab diplomats, Turkish politicians and senior figures of humanitarian philanthropy in Turkey. The program began with the reception of the guests by the Kuwaiti Consul, His Excellency Mohammed Fahad Al-Mohammed, and his daughter, Heba Al-Matrouk, and then they were invited to the cultural ceremony, announcing the start of the event. The relations between the two countries, Kuwait and Turkey, are based on mutual respect and joint cooperation. He also referred to the humanitarian and charitable aspect of the State of Kuwait, represented by the leader of humanitarian action, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, and his unlimited support for humanitarian issues and afflicted peoples. Then the Consul invited His Excellency Wasseb Shaheen, Governor of Istanbul to deliver a speech where He expressed his happiness to participate in the ceremony and stressed the warm relations between the two countries.

                                                                             

At the invitation of the Consul, the Orphan Care Union invited a number of mothers and their orphaned children to participate in this celebration, believing in the necessity of bringing happiness and joy to their hearts after they suffered from the loss of the head of the family and their breadwinner and their displacement from their mother country to their second country, Turkey; In gratitude and for this generous gesture, the “orphans” children expressed their thanks for the invitation by presenting a hymn on the occasion of the Kuwaiti National Day, which is “My Country is My Love.” Then one of the orphans delivered a letter of thanks to the humanitarian leader, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect him, where he concluded it by saying:

I am an orphan with my head held high


In honor of the attendees, lunch was served on this occasion, echoing the songs of Kuwaiti national songs, followed by a group photo of the official guests accompanied by the audience, especially the orphans. The Wali of Istanbul, which are wooden boards specially made from the mothers of orphans.

Believing in the role and work of the Union, the Kuwaiti Consul General in Istanbul, His Excellency Muhammad Fahad Al-Mohammed, made a donation of $10,000 to support the projects of the Union. On the sidelines of the ceremony, the Union was participating in an introductory pavilion for the Union's work, activities and projects. The pavilion was visited by official and international dignitaries

                                                                              

The event concluded with group memorial photos accompanied by the orphans, and the guests bid farewell.
