Second half report for 2023

A series of achievements, programs and activities carried out by the Orphans Care Federation during the second half of 2023.

 


 

1. Hope Makers Camp - Türkiye

 

Three days with an atmosphere filled with entertainment... training... motivation... creativity... change.

Despite the differences in cultures, environments, and countries, more than 100 of our distinguished orphan girls and our distinguished orphan boys participated in the Hope Makers and Males camps in Istanbul, under the auspices of the Qawafil Association for Relief and Development - Al-Hikma Kuwaiti Charitable Society - the  Orphans Care Federation and in organization with the Ataa Humanitarian Relief Association, the Himma Youth Association and the Al-Sham Association. To care for orphans.

Each participant has a story and anecdote that combines hope and pain

The camp was a new challenge full of fears, and the most important question was: Will we be able to change them???

2. “Relief and Safety” campaign, psychological and relief support for workers affected by the earthquake

 

Over the course of 12 training days in 3 states in southern Turkey, Hatay - Sanliurfa - Gaziantep and northern Syria.

The training campaign to support them, Relief and Aman, was launched under the supervision of the Tanmia Charity Association - Kuwait, and implemented by the  Orphans Care Federation - Turkey, and with funding from philanthropists in the State of Kuwait, and in cooperation with the Rahma Organization around the world, a “psychological support program for field workers with orphans and their families” was established.

100 field workers, both male and female, in institutions working with orphans participated in it, which was presented by a distinguished group of experts and trainers from the Tarahum volunteer team, Mr. Ahmed Al-Ruwaih, Dr. Musaed Al-Najjar, Dr. Othman Al-Asfour, Ms. Hessa Al-Rashed, and Dr. Shatha Al-Fayez.

3. Interactive lectures and seminars

 

During the past period, the Orphans Care Federation, in cooperation with experts and trainers, presented important topics for online lectures in the orphan care sector, which are:


- Lecture “Developing operating policies for shelter homes for orphans and their families: between development and development.”
With Dr. Ibrahim Al-Khulaifi and Dr. Mustafa Hanafi
Lecture: “Psychological relief for Gaza’s orphans.”
 

Responding to the repercussions of war and the psychological trauma it causes to orphans.”

Seminar: “The Conditions of Orphans in Gaza - Response Priorities and Ways to Provide Support”
With the interviewers: Dr. Zayed Hammad and Mr. Hamed Abu Shawish

 

300 participants participated in the interactive lectures and seminars, including workers and those interested in the orphan care sector from several countries around the world.

4. Quality System Project

 

A series of preparatory meetings and workshops related to this model project that the Orphans Care Federation is working on, in partnership with the Kuwaiti Al-Hikma Society, and in cooperation with researchers and experts around the world.
 

The project aims to:

  • Improving the quality of care provided in orphanages.
  • Ensuring the provision of a safe and appropriate environment for their psychological, social and health development.

5. Guests and institutions visit the Orphans Care Federation

 

The Orphans Care Federation was visited by many delegations, philanthropic individuals, and philanthropists from the State of Kuwait, America, Italy, and Turkey. The visits aimed to learn about the Union’s programs, activities, and projects that it is working on.
