Within the framework of the Union’s social and humanitarian charitable activities, and in an effort to consolidate relations with the great benefactors of the honorable people of Kuwait, and to enhance coordination with Kuwaiti charitable organizations, the Orphan Care Union held two charitable evenings, the first under the title “Culture of Charitable Work” in the presence of women activists in charitable humanitarian work corresponding to 6 May 2018, and the second was held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, under the title “Together..we can” in the presence of men from the pioneers of charitable humanitarian work and heads of Kuwaiti charitable organizations.

The two evenings aimed at introducing and reminding the Orphans Care Union and presenting its achievements in the recent period, in addition to emphasizing the importance of the umbrella institutions in humanitarian and charitable work, marketing the Union's projects and securing financial support for them.

The guests were welcomed by Mr. Salah Al-Jarallah, the Secretary-General, and he thanked them for accepting the invitation. Then the evening's activities began with a speech by Mr. Fadi Iskandarani, Executive Director of the Orphan Care Federation, during which he introduced the stations the union has gone through, referring to the most prominent developments in the context of humanitarian works, and presented an overview of The Union’s projects that are in the implementation phase and the projects it seeks to implement during the coming period. The Union has started implementing 5 out of 10 projects in the context of raising and building capacities of humanitarian organizations working with orphans, and in the context of empowering widowed women and their orphaned children.

 

During his speech, Iskandarani also referred to the Union’s recent achievements in training activities and workshops in Iraq and Turkey, which aimed to raise and build the capacities of charitable humanitarian organizations working with orphans, in addition to organizing many humanitarian activities in cooperation with official authorities, and participating in most of the coordination and networking activities in The context of charitable and humanitarian work.

At the end of the two evenings, the discussion was opened to the attendees to answer their inquiries about the Union’s projects. They praised these projects and stressed their importance and the necessity of implementing them in the context of humanitarian work. Mr. Fadi concluded the evening by thanking the attendees for their acceptance of the invitation, who praised the Union’s role in developing charitable humanitarian work. They praised his work.
