It is the year of children, the slogan of the International Day for the Rights of the Child for this year, as today's date, 20 November 2017, coincides with the anniversary of the date of the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of the Declaration and the Convention on the Rights of the Child since 1990 AD.
On this occasion, UNICEF called on government leaders, civil society activists, religious and community elders, business owners, media professionals, as well as youth and children themselves to play an important role in making this day relevant to their communities.
International Children's Day offers each of us an inspiring entry point to advocate, promote and celebrate children's rights, translating them into dialogues and actions that will build a better world for children.
In turn, the Federation believes and stresses that all children, especially orphans, have the right to:
– Material care and attention
Intellectual stimulation
Passionate love and security
Social communication and relationships
Acquiring and maintaining their needs
Protection from neglect, abuse and exploitation
Discrimination protection
To be treated as independent individuals
It also stresses the suffering of children living in conflict and disaster areas, and a large percentage of them drop out of school to support and support their families, according to statistics and reports issued by the International Association for Refugee and Child Rights, and that they live deprived of basic rights and dream of living a normal life like other children.
